Sara Howard, Circular Ceramics
As part of the recent Women in Foundation Industries series of events organised by KTN, the University of Exeter hosted a workshop for Circular Economy in the South West, where we heard from Sara Howard about her experience of implementing circularity in the ceramics industry.
Sara Howard is an award-winning ceramicist and materials researcher who graduated from Central St. Martins in 2020 after studying a BA Honours Degree in Ceramic Design. Her practice is focussed on reducing the environmental and societal impacts of ceramic production and as part of her graduate project, she produced the Circular Ceramic tableware range which she has since looked to scale up by implementing her processes at a factory in Indonesia. In this latest episode of our CE Stories podcast, we talk to Sara about her experiences of implementing circularity in the industry, including challenges she’s faced and what she feels is needed moving forwards.
