The second part of the talk focused on mobility and transport systems, and was kicked off with the premier of a second short film by EMF, “Tackling climate change with a circular economy for mobility”. This film explored the importance of circularity in the transition to electric vehicles, with a focus on the end life of EV batteries.
Toast Ale, Louisa Ziane: SME Shorts
Louisa Ziane, Co-Founder and COO of Toast Ale, an award-winning craft beer brewery that uses surplus fresh bread that would otherwise be wasted, sat down with the CE-Hub at the inaugural NICER Programme CE Showcase to discuss her business, and share her experiences of being an SME in Circular Economy.
On Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd March 2022, the CE-Hub hosted the inaugural NICER Programme CE Showcase, the first in-person event of the NICER Programme. The day gave the opportunity for the CE Community to network, share experiences and stories. Bringing together representatives from government, academia, global industry and small businesses, the event shared a diversity of expertise, experience approaches to CE.
The Showcase had several SMEs on panel sessions, giving talks, and representing their businesses as part of the Circular Economy Club-led SME Showcase. We invited some of these SMEs to share their Circular Economy stories in a series of interviews.
