The Autumn Events Programme is here

We’ve got some great events lined up over the next 6 months. From online lunchtime webinars, to in-depth national events, we will cover several different work areas of the CE-Hub and wider NICER Programme. We kick off with a lunchtime Webinar on Circular Economy Systems and a National Seminar on Measuring the Circular Economy in October, exploring several work areas of the CE-hub and NICER Programme, before bringing it all together in the first ever CE-Hub National Annual Symposium on 2nd – 3rd March 2022.

More details including registration are below:

15/10/2021 – Measuring the Circular Economy: NICER Programme Seminar – 14:00 – 16:30

Measuring the Circular Economy has been repeatedly ranked as the most important topic that the NICER community would like explore. This multi-dimensional topic encompasses matters such as increased access to data, tools, and the latest research thinking and evidence. This event will focus specifically on the challenge of measuring CE at scale – in terms of National economy and value chain – and will discuss the potential system level interventions, metrics, and indicators to guide action, outcome, and impact evaluation.

November 2021

19/11/2021 – Creating and Capturing Value from Circular Economy: NICER Programme Seminar – 14:00 – 16:30

A Circular Economy is an alternative to a traditional linear economy (make, use, dispose) in which we keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value from them whilst in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life.  Creating and capturing value via processes such as remanufacturing, refurbishment, repair and direct reuse, i.e. the tighter loops of the circular economy, are key enablers to optimise the value retained in products and materials through the extension of their useful life and form an essential aspect of meeting the challenges in transitioning to a circular economy.

In this event we will discuss approaches to value creation across the resource flows associated with the NICER Programme as well as providing examples of how value is being created at organisational, national and international levels.
